WAKEFIELD - The Goessel High School volleyball team claimed a pair of wins Tuesday in Wheat State League play in Wakefield. Hesston is 15-1, 5-0 in CKL play, and plays Thursday at a dual meet at Garden Plain. PRATT - The Hesston High School volleyball team swept a Central Kansas League triangular Tuesday at Pratt. Team scores - Manhattan 284, Hays 292, Maize 296, Derby 301, Hutchinson 312, Great Bend 316, Goddard Eisenhower 328, Salina Central 329, Newton 337, Salina South 368, Dodge City 391. 27, when the Railers compete at the Wichita North Invitational at Sim Park. Other Newton scores were Brynna Walton at 80, Mallory Seirer at 91, Naomi Kuhn at 96, Mollee Ewert-Smith at 100 and Ada Montano at 111. Newton was led by Kit Kingsley, who placed 10th at 70. Karee Dinkel of Hays was top medalist at 59, followed by Ellie Cobb of Salina Central at 60 and Kenni Henson of Derby at 61. The meet was halted after 14 holes because of the weather. Manhattan won the meet with a team score of 284, followed by Hays at 292, Maize at 296, Derby at 301 and Hutchinson at 312. ![]()
